We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SharePoint Developer to lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise SharePoint and document management solutions. This role requires a solid technical professional who can provide domain expertise for existing applications, drive solution delivery, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.

 

The ideal candidate will possess deep SharePoint and .NET development experience, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and a passion for leveraging AI-assisted development and automation to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical and domain knowledge custodian for existing applications, providing guidance on system architecture, business processes, business rules, and technical design decisions.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and support SharePoint-based applications and solutions using Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Analyse, investigate, and troubleshoot application and system issues using scripts, logs, SQL queries, and debugging tools.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, and Testers to refine requirements, elaborate user stories, resolve defects, and support test automation initiatives.
  • Develop high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions following established development standards and best practices.
  • Convert business and functional requirements into technical designs and automated unit test cases.
  • Champion Agile engineering practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), refactoring, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with DevOps and deployment teams to implement continuous integration, automated build, release, and deployment processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning activities and provide effort estimates for user stories and development tasks.
  • Support application deployment activities across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Manage production incidents and participate in after-hours support rotation when required.
  • Work with external vendors and third-party solution providers to support system integration and project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and project teams.
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot and other coding assistants to improve coding efficiency, testing, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Leverage automation to streamline development, testing, build, and deployment activities.
  • Support code optimization, refactoring, defect resolution, and technical documentation using AI and automation tools.
  • Maintain compliance with security, governance, and technology standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience, with significant experience in Microsoft SharePoint development and support.
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification or equivalent professional certification.
  • Solid expertise in Microsoft SharePoint, .NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and web application development.
  • Proven experience delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting Document Management Systems (DMS) and collaboration platforms.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across application, database, and system layers.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, business users, project teams, and external vendors.
  • Experience in application deployment, release management, and production support.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based application development and modern Microsoft technology platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and functional testing.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and software quality best practices.
  • Experience with web development technologies and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with build and deployment automation tools such as MSBuild, Maven, Docker, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting or delivering large-scale SharePoint implementation or migration projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development, DevOps, automation tools, or intelligent coding platforms is good to have.
